YEEZYFLUENCE: Let’s take a moment to talk about how Kanye West influences each of us on an individual level. Besides helping run this blog with my fellow broYe, JC, I also run a photography blog called Junagraphy. Anyone who listens to Yeezy and goes through my work would be able to see the hints of Ye influences here and there. No doubt, the man’s aesthetic as a whole has had its influence on my art, my fashion, and even some of my personal philosophies. All I know is if I ever succeed in my own endeavors, I’d have to admit… YEEZY TAUGHT ME.
“People always say that you can’t please everybody. I think that’s a cop-out. Why not attempt it? ‘Cause think of all the people you will please if you try.”
“I do have an ego and rightfully so. I think people should have an ego. Think about it - I don’t offend people, I don’t put anyone down. Do I name names or bring people down? That’s not my thing. But I give myself big-ups. I feel good about the music I make.”
“I’m a star, how can I not shine?”
- Three of my favorite Kanye West quotes.Who’s got their own Yeezyfluence stories?
I can’t even with this man. I love him so much there are no words. I will defend him over and over again. He’s the only hip-hop/pop artist [that I know of, besides maybe GaGa] that works so hard to put so much culture and art into his music. His videos are “moving paintings” and every lyric and song has a special deeper meaning. He’s a true poet and idgaf what anyone says about him or his massive ego, he’s still probably the only celeb I would weep on the spot for if I got to meet him. [Okay, and maybe GaGa too :) ]
